Some of the most fascinating storylines to track in the final weeks of the NFL season are the bonus incentive situations for individual players across the league, including NFL and franchise-specific records. It's been a popular prop-betting angle for the past five years, particularly late in the season.
Mike Evans is probably the most high-profile recent example, as the Bucs could have taken a knee with 36 seconds left to secure a win against the Saints last season, but instead threw a nine-yard pass to Evans, who hit the 1,000-yard mark on that play and unlocked a $3M bonus.
Player incentives will be earned or missed in the coming weeks, as a host of players learn whether they will be getting lucrative checks based on their statistical performances.
This mostly applies to quarterbacks, skill-position players, and those who rush the quarterback, as their stats are most easily quantified and tracked, but they're not the only players with bonuses in play.
