Cardinals vs Bengals NFL Week 17 Preview

It’s a bit scary given the nature of the explosive offenses and poor defenses of these two teams, but there could be some wind in this game, and the Cardinals are going to be playing outdoors, which they aren't overly accustomed to doing.

Arizona is going to try to do everything it can to limit explosives, and Joe Burrow is probably going to have success moving the ball down the field methodically. That takes time.

You really need everything to go right to push a total into the high 50s or 60s, like we have in this game at 53.5. The Bengals defense has been playing a little better of late, especially if you remove that snow game against Josh Allen. You can usually throw out games against elite quarterbacks in extreme conditions.

The Cardinals’ offensive line is still really banged up. The issue is that their defense is banged up though, especially the secondary.

This game really comes down to Cincinnati's defense. If the Bengals play the way they have lately (aside from the Bills game), I think this game stays way under the total.

Cardinals vs Bengals Prediction, Betting Analysis

I don’t love many totals this week, especially with injuries and weather to monitor, but I do think this number is too high.

The Bengals are going to score points. Arizona is injured at almost every level. Maybe Marvin Harrison Jr. plays more snaps this week, but we’ll see.

This number is simply too high for two non-elite teams. The defenses aren’t good, and either side could lay an egg here anyway (probably the Cardinals).

For what it's worth, the under in this game is also one of Dr. Nick Giffen's Luck Rankings picks.  I don’t love it, but I do think this line is inflated.

Pick: Under 53.5 (-110)
