SuperContest Week 8 scores are a mixed bag

Las Vegas – On Halloween, as our kids go out and beg for sweet treats from strangers, the betting ghosts and goblins delivered a so-so Week 8 for our Sports Action Teams.

A few of our teams did well, like getting full candy bars from that cool neighbor. Others got handed some not so good results, like getting rolls of Smarties, failing to gain ground in the contest.

In honor of this night of horrors, let me tell you to what happened to Team Gamenight and Team Beatrix Kiddo, because our scores were as pretty as a haunted house.

My team, Gamenight, went 2-3 this week. I missed on the Saints covering their -9 line by one point. I also totally blew the pick of the Redskins (-2) and the 49ers (+12.5), because both those teams got blown out in their games.

I was able to score with the Pats (-7) covering by one point over the Chargers and KC’s (-7) big win over the Broncos on Monday Night Football. Yet it wasn’t what I was looking for this week.

Unfortunately, as we all have experienced in this contest, a humbling week hit Team Beatrix Kiddo. They brought home a bag of Smarties with an 0-5 week. Not all is lost for BK, however, as they are in second place for our teams with 20 points so far. They are also still in the chase for the money as they are still in top 900 for teams with nine weeks to go.

On the other side of the coin, two of our teams had winning weeks. First, Team Sports Action scored a 3-2 record to give them a 11-8-1 mark over the last month. That run has put Sports Action ahead of my team with 19 points and put Gamenight (18 points) in last place of our four entries.

Bet The Process bounced back from a rough Week 7 to have a winning record with a 3-2 score. The three points scored this week allow Bet to be our top team with 23.5 points on the year.

Week 9 is up next. I NEED a big week!
