Cowboys vs Eagles Prop Picks, Preview
By Kyle Murray
Saquon Barkley is coming off a career season in which he handled monster volume. I don't expect much different this season as Barkley is one of the most reliable producers in the NFL.
He averaged 22 carries per game during the regular season, and he saw 19+ carries in 12 of his final 14 games (playoffs included). The Eagles are 8-point favorites, so they should be in a favorable game script to run the ball plenty.
As a result, we have him projected for north of 20 carries in our projections at RotoGrinders. Additionally, Barkley averaged 23 carries per game in the six games in which the Eagles were favored by at least a touchdown.

With Cowboys-Eagles on Opening Night drawing closer, most TD prop bets are approaching true value to me.
A.J. Brown, for some reason, seems to be the one player left whose odds look reasonable, and if we dig in deeper, we can score even bigger on him finding the paint in the first half.
The Eagles look like they should have little issue winning this game — if that plays out like it did in 2024, we want to focus on first-half production for Brown.
Last season, Brown had 65 targets in the first half of games compared to 31 targets in the second half. He had 684 yards in the first half of games compared to 395 yards in the second half. He had 5 TDs in the first half of games compared to 2 TDs in the second half.
If the Eagles are cruising to victory, Brown should see the majority of his production in the first half, so let's get better odds than the full game and bank on that happening again.
Pick: A.J. Brown 1st Half Anytime Touchdown (+330; DraftKings)
The addition of George Pickens to the Cowboys this offseason was a big one — he's a big upgrade over Brandin Cooks.
CeeDee Lamb is the clear WR1, but Pickens should be in for a big role, especially considering the Cowboys defense will be much worse without Micah Parsons.
Pickens hasn't been a huge touchdown machine in his career, with 13 TDs in 48 games, but this is a drastically better and more pass-heavy offense. Pickens had 16 red-zone targets last season, including seven within the 10-yard line, despite playing in one of the worst offenses in the league (only 21 passing touchdowns).
Dak Prescott is a drastic improvement for Pickens, and the wideout should be used heavily in the red zone.
Additionally, as an 8.5-point underdog, the Cowboys should be in a pass-heavy game script.
I have the true odds here around +190, making this a good bet.
Pick: George Pickens Anytime Touchdown (+225; bet365)
The Cowboys are going to struggle defensively this season.
Even before the Micah Parsons trade, they weren't expected to be great. Now that he's gone, they are in real trouble. Over the last two seasons, the Cowboys have been a bottom-three defense with Parsons off the field.
For their opener, they have to go on the road to take on the defending Super Bowl champs. We can expect Philly to score a ton of points in this one.
The game script sets up well for a pass-heavy game plan from the Cowboys, as does their personnel. There are a lot of question marks in their backfield at the moment, and the Eagles should be good against the run.
I think we could see 40+ dropbacks for Dak Prescott in this one.
CeeDee Lamb led the league in receptions in Dak's last full season (2023), so we can expect him to get peppered with targets in this one.
Pick: CeeDee Lamb Over 6.5 Receptions (+106; FanDuel)
