Falcons vs 49ers Prop Picks, Preview

Christian McCaffrey Over 16.5 Rushing Attempts (-102)

We’ve not seen a huge game on the ground for Christian McCaffrey yet this season, with the 29-year-old not managing more than 69 rushing yards in a game yet this season.
That isn’t to say he isn’t having a good season. He’s continuing to shine in the 49ers’ passing game, with 444 total yards there, way ahead of the 336 he’s earned on the ground.
The Falcons have been good against the run this season, so we’re not going to back him to cover his rushing yard line; instead, we’re taking CMC to have Over 16.5 carries.
This is a number that he’s exceeded in five of six games this season, and with the 49ers just 1.5-point favorites, it may mean they resort to eating the clock with rushing at the end of the game.
Pick: Christian McCaffrey Over 16.5 Rushing Attempts (-102)

George Kittle Under 53.5 Receiving Yards (-130)

It’s expected that George Kittle will be activated in time for this game, and the 49ers will be relieved to get one of their best playmakers on the field. Kittle has not suited up since the opening weekend victory over the Seahawks.
I’m always wary of players getting big workloads on their return from injury, and that remains true here.
Will the 49ers really force-feed their tight end? Even if they do, will it really matter?
No team in the entire NFL has given up fewer yards to tight ends than the Falcons, who have allowed just 88 yards across five games.
Is it really likely that a 90% healthy Kittle breaks 54 yards when they’ve averaged just 17.6 against per game this season?
Pick: George Kittle Under 53.5 Receiving Yards (-130)

Michael Penix Jr. Over 19.5 Pass Completions (-125)

This isn’t a vintage 49ers defense, in part thanks to their best player, pass rusher Nick Bosa, being on IR.
Without him, this defense has dropped to being in the bottom half in terms of defensive DVOA, and they actually rank 30th of 32 in terms of team sack percentage, at just 3.5%, which is over 10% less than the leaders, Denver.
If the Niners can’t get pressure on Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr., then it’s going to give him a lot of time to pick out his throws and ensure a higher level of accuracy than he has this season.
Penix has had 20+ completions in three of five games, and should cover here, although I’d be wary of taking any higher lines if it rises.
Pick: Michael Penix Jr. Over 19.5 Pass Completions (-125)

Bijan Robinson Over 38.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

When it comes to a Falcons game, you simply need to find a way to back Bijan Robinson. He’s their best player and arguably the most dynamic running back in the NFL right now.
Whether it’s on the ground or through the air, he’s taking teams apart and has 100+ scrimmage yards in every game this season.
On this occasion, we’re backing Robinson to have Over 38.5 receiving yards.
It’s a number that he’s covered, by a large margin, in four of five games this season. His average is a staggering 67.6 receiving yards per game.
What increases confidence in this bet winning is that he’s getting a lot of volume, with 6.2 targets per game.
With that level of volume, he should cover here, despite the 49ers' strength against running backs in the receiving game so far this season.
Pick: Bijan Robinson Over 38.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
