Premier League Props: Tuesday, Jan. 2

The relentless festive fixture pile-up continues into the new year, with games seemingly every day before things finally settle back into a regular rhythm in the EPL.

Here are our favorite props for Tuesday's matches as the EPL charges into 2018.

Points for Palace at Southampton?

Crystal Palace was in big trouble earlier this season, but they’ve clawed their way out of the relegation zone and have given themselves a real chance of survival this season. The Eagles travel to Southampton to take on a side who sits just one point above them knowing a win can put some real daylight between themselves and the drop zone.

Palace has been poor on the road this season. They’ve won just once on the road, and they've picked up a total of six points from their away games so far this term. But that win — a resounding 3-0 victory at Leicester — came on Dec. 16, and Palace will look at their recent form, look at Southampton’s place in the table and fancy their chances of coming away with points.

A hat-trick of hat-tricks for Harry?

Tottenham Hotspur heads to Swansea City looking to keep pace with Liverpool and Arsenal in the race for fourth place knowing victory against the bottom-of-the-table Swans is an absolute must.

Tottenham Hotspur has been in superb form, winning five of their last six in all competitions, scoring 19 goals. Meanwhile, Swansea is in big, big trouble at the foot of the table, and even though they found two goals in the last four minutes to claim a come-from-behind win at Watford last time out, they’re going to face a serious test against the Londoners here.

And there’s no hotter player in the league than Harry Kane right now. The Spurs frontman notched hat-tricks in Tottenham's last two matches as they defeated Burnley 3-0 away from home at Turf Moor, then thrashed Southampton 5-2 at home.

Tottenham has had a full week’s rest, which has been particularly useful for Kane, who has been suffering from the effects of a cold that’s been going around the club. Boss Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful his man will be OK to play on Tuesday.

William Hill is offering a special price of +300 for the Spurs striker to hit two or more goals against the Swans. If you fancy him to complete a hat-trick of hat-tricks, there’s a market for that, too. He’s +1000. If you're interested in a bit of a gamble this week, Kane to net three more against a struggling Swansea side might be worth considering.

Arnie to terminate West Brom?

West Ham’s form over the last six games has been a mixed bag, with two wins, two draws and two defeats, but one thing has been consistent during that run: the goal-scoring form of striker Marko Arnautovic.

The Austrian striker is enjoying the most prolific spell of his West Ham career. The Hammers have scored in four of their last six games, and Arnautovic found the net in each and every one of them — five in all.

He scored twice last time out as the Hammers picked up a 3-3 draw at Bournemouth, and he’s a solid pick to score again when the Hammers play host to West Bromwich Albion at home on Tuesday.

City backlash to sting Watford?

Manchester City saw their remarkable 18-game winning run halted by Crystal Palace last time out, as the Eagles held Pep Guardiola’s men to a 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace's home stadium. But you can bet the Sky Blues will come roaring back on Tuesday when they face Watford at home.

Following their misstep against Palace, City will be looking to re-establish their dominance and ensure that draw doesn’t start a run of dropped points, so expect them to go on the attack against Watford, who actually has a more than respectable away record this season.

But despite Watford’s solid road form, City is on a different level, particularly at home. They’ve dropped just two points at their Etihad Stadium home this season, and it’s highly unlikely they’ll drop points on Tuesday. Expect goals. Bet the over.
