Osaka vs Gauff Preview, Prediction

Osaka Betting Preview

Naomi Osaka comforted Coco Gauff after easily defeating her 6-3, 6-0 in their first (and only) US Open encounter back in 2019. That was during Osaka's heyday, the year when Osaka became World No. 1.

Things have changed since then, with Gauff now holding 10 WTA titles compared to Osaka's seven, but the American has only won two Grand Slams, compared to four for Osaka.

Osaka took breaks from her career (for mental health reasons and to have a child) and now ranks 24th on the tour — she hasn't won a title since the 2021 Australian Open. However, she has come back stronger this year, playing in two tournament finals and has performed well this week in New York.

This is her best surface, and it shows. Osaka won her first two matches in straight sets and surprised Daria Kasatkina in three sets, winning the first with a bagel.

Gauff Betting Preview

Coco Gauff is coming off a first-round exit at Wimbledon, and her hard-court season wasn't all that impressive.

She struggled in her debut against Ajla Tomljanovic, prevailing in three sets, but settled down after that with consecutive straight-sets victories in the following rounds.

Gauff had some issues with her serve, racking up double faults in the first two matches, but in her last match, she was in top form and played her best match.

Against a power hitter like Osaka, Gauff will need precision more than ever to keep the rallies going. After all, that was her winning formula against Aryna Sabalenka at the Roland Garros final against Aryna Sabalenka.

Osaka vs Gauff Prediction, Best Bet

Osaka hit 20 aces combined in her first three matches and is clearly feeling it. She has already won the US Open twice (2018, 2020) and knows she risks nothing here.
