Aces vs. Sun Preview
Connecticut is one of two winless teams in the WNBA, and their prospects of notching their first victory won't get any easier against a Las Vegas Aces team that has its sights set on repeating as champions. The schedulers weren't particularly kind to Connecticut, as three of its first four games in the campaign are against New York and Las Vegas.
The Liberty already won by 31 points on opening night last week, and then the Aces handed out a 29-point defeat on Wednesday.
This Sun team finished last season with the league’s third-fewest wins (11), yet only ended up with the No. 12 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
The Sun's decision to swap first-round pick rights with the Sky in a 2024 midseason trade essentially led to Connecticut moving down in the draft order to select France's Nell Angloma.
After missing Connecticut's first three games due to contract commitments overseas, Angloma has now joined with her teammates and could make her debut as early as tonight.
While she recently averaged double figures with Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomération, it's not entirely clear how Connecticut head coach Rachid Meziane will use Angloma in the rotation.
What we do know is this: Connecticut began the year with the second-lowest projected win total (12.5), before the market bet that number down to 11.5.
Given what we've seen thus far, there's almost an element of certainty that wins won't come easily for this Connecticut Sun team.

Aces vs. Sun Prediction
This is a very interesting spot for the Sun, as it's essentially a home-and-home series in Connecticut. Generally, there's often a potential for things to even out with the home and away team claiming a split in the series.
Though such a scenario seems unlikely, given the talent gap between these teams.
Historically, teams that are dogs of 14.5 points or more in consecutive games against the same opponent coming off a double-digit loss are 0-5 straight up during the WNBA regular season.
However, those teams are 4-1 against the spread.
At worst, Angloma could be a real wild card here, and I'd expect the Sun to compete a bit better after their head coach called out his players' effort in the loss during his postgame press conference.
"I'm not sure that we play hard enough to compete against this team," Meziane said. "But we play them again, and I hope we can do something different."
The total does offer some intrigue in this spot, as the under is on a 4-1 run.
A lower-scoring output aligns with our theory that the underdog tends to play better defensively in the second leg of these matchups.
After running the numbers, my model projects a total closer to 158, making the under my biggest edge for the game.
Best Bet: Under 171.5 points (-108)
