Will Astronomer CEO Andy Byron resign from his position by the end of July? The public is making their voices heard on the matter thanks to Kalshi.

Tech mogul Byron and the Chief People Officer of Astronomer Kristin Cabot seem to have thought that a night out to watch Coldplay perform at Gillette Stadium wouldn't be a bad idea.

What's the harm in watching your favorite band play in a stadium filled with tens of thousands of people?

Similar to sporting events, Coldplay went through the crowd to get its fans on a "Kiss Cam," where if you're a couple and you get shown on the jumbotron, you kiss.

Byron and Cabot were shown in an embrace as the camera panned to them as Byron had his arms around Cabot’s chest, their fingers intertwined.

But things changed when they both scrambled to get out of the shot.

"Oh, what?" Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, can be heard saying in recordings from the show. "Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy."

All of a sudden, they became two of the most talked-about individuals online. The clip of them hiding from the camera has gone viral all over X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok — you name it. Now rumors are swirling online about their alleged affair.

If you're thinking of placing wagers on Byron's status, Kalshi is an operator in the marketplace allows you to place money on it from all 50 states. Kalshi blends traditional financial systems with innovative prediction markets. Learn more here.

It's simple. Kalshi is placing wagers on whether Byron will step down from his position as CEO or not. A question some may be asking after the viral video incident.

If before August 1, he steps down, those who wagered on "Yes" will receive a payout. If he stays on afterwards, those who wagered "No" will profit.

The market has significantly fluctuated, and when it opened up at 10:40 p.m. ET, it didn't get above a 50% chance, likely because the viral video didn't travel as quickly.

Suddenly at 1 p.m., "Yes" wagers skyrocketed, and the odds of him resigning were at a heavy 88.7%, likely due to the video circulating throughout the internet at an impressive rate.

However, after that spike, the odds of him staying on board leveled out, and currently, the chances of him continuing to serve in his position are 57%.

Kalshi also offers various options to wager on anything else, ranging from political races, where an album charts on Billboard, or even what price Bitcoin can reach.
