Sunday's golf match between Tiger Woods/Peyton Manning and Phil Mickelson/Tom Brady was expected to do massive numbers, both in terms of TV ratings and betting handle. And while we won't know the TV numbers until tomorrow, the word from sportsbooks is that the betting interest was … significant.

In fact, DraftKings told The Action Network that the match "doubled our previous top golf event in handle by 6 p.m. ET." It's worth noting that the match wasn't over until after 8 p.m. ET.

Prior to the event, DraftKings said that its handle for the match was pretty split, with 57% of the bets and 52% of the handle on Peyton and Tiger. The sportsbook's biggest bet on the event — a $15,000 wager on Mickelson and Brady at +170 — did not cash.

PointsBet, meanwhile, reported that it saw action comparable to "an upper-level regular season NBA game," and that it got dealt a blow when Mickelson and Brady's comeback attempt came up short. Seventy-one percent of the money at PointsBet was on Woods/Peyton to win, in large part due to a promotion it was running, giving a big boost to the duo's odds.

Sunday afternoon update

The status of The Match II is still up in the air because of the weather but that isn't stopping the money from showing up. DraftKings reports that they took a $15,000 bet on Mickelson and Brady at +170. That wager would win $25,500 if Phil and Tom pull off the upset.

The market is pretty evenly split at DK, with 57% of the bets and 52% of the handle on Peyton and Tiger. The two markets with the most drastic Peyton-Tiger split are Indiana and Colorado. Go figure.

PointsBet reports that 51% of the bets at their shop are on Mickelson and Brady but 66% of the total handle is on Woods and Manning. That means the bigger bets are coming in on the favorites, at least at PointsBet.

Sunday morning update

FanDuel reports that 51% of the bets have come in on Team Woods, but the actual handle is more pronounced with 61% of the dollars on The Big Cat and The Sheriff.

That disparity makes some sense since FanDuel took the biggest biggest bet we've heard about, a $10,250 bet on Tiger and Peyton -205. That wager would pay out $5,002 if Woods and Manning come out on top. FanDuel also took a $6,300 play on Woods/Manning at -178 which would pay out $3,540.60.

That wager is more than double the biggest that FanDuel has written on Mickelson and Brady $3,020 at +164. That ticket would be worth $4,952.80 if Lefty and TB12 come out on top.
