In Bet Labs, we have data for 19 All-Star games spanning 2005-2024, with the exception of 2020, when there was no ASG.

The American League is 15-4 on the moneyline, up $942 on $100 bets, which is good for a 49.6% return on investment.

Since 2013, the AL is 10-1 on the moneyline against the NL, with the only loss coming in 2023 (a 3-2 defeat).

The line for this year's All-Star Game is very tight, but as of now the NL is a slight favorite at -112.

Pick: American League Moneyline (+110)

I'm kind of surprised to get the over here at such positive odds, but it surely has a lot to do with the fact that the game has a relatively low over/under of 7.

The thing is, even when the All-Star Game is relatively low-scoring there are usually still dingers.

In fact, there have been at least two home runs in nine straight All-Star Games. That includes 2023 (3-2 final score), 2022 (3-2 final score) and even 2017 (2-1 final score). We haven't had an All-Star Game with fewer than two home runs since 2014, when just one was hit.

The pitching also isn't all that impressive here once you get past starting pitchers Tarik Skubal and Paul Skenes.

On the American League side, we won't see Hunter Brown, Garrett Crochet, Jacob deGrom or Max Fried, and on the National League side, we'll be missing Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Robbie Ray, Freddy Peralta and Matthew Boyd.

There are always plenty of starters who don't pitch in the All-Star Game after starting on the Sunday before the break, but this year's squads feel more bereft of pitching star power than usual.

Finally, if I can put my conspiracy theorist hat on for a minute, I feel like there's a non-zero chance MLB swaps in some juiced baseball games for this one, too, because they WANT dingers and they WANT fireworks.

I lean toward the over on the game total of 7, but feel like there's much better value on just betting on dingers, so I'll take over 1.5 home runs hit tonight at +175.

Pick: Over 1.5 Home Runs (+175)

All-Star Game Hits Prop Pick

American League Over 1.5 Extra-Base Hits (-120)

Since the markets opened for the MLB All-Star Game, the over has received plenty of support.

In a game typically dominated by pitching, offense is expected in this year's rendition Midsummer Classic, and last night's Home Run Derby showed just how well the ball travels at Truist Park in hot and humid conditions.

When it comes to power in this matchup, the American League has the edge. With the National League pitching staff boasting eight lefties, we are going to see some of the best lefty-mashers in baseball get at least one opportunity to do some damage.

In the starting lineup, the likes of Cal Raleigh, Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Jacob Wilson all have above-average ISO's against lefties.

However, it doesn't stop there, as many of the reserves off the bench also excel against lefties; Alex Bregman, Maikel Garcia, Issac Paredes, Bobby Witt Jr., Byron Buxton, Julio Rodriguez and Brent Rooker can all make an impact.

With the opportunities this plentiful for the American League, back them to knock at least two extra-base hits tonight.

Pick: American League Over 1.5 Extra-Base Hits (-120)
