Brewers vs Cardinals MLB Betting Preview
Story: Back the Brew Crew’s Young Phenoms to Stay Hot
The Cardinals will host the Brewers on Tuesday afternoon in the first of a doubleheader at Busch Stadium in Saint Louis, as the two divisional foes prepare to play one another five times in just four days to make up for a rainout in May.
24-year-old right-hander Jacob Misiorowski will start for Milwaukee, while the Cards will trot out righty veteran Michael McGreevy in what could be a thrilling pitching duel, given the impressive form of both starters heading into this matchup.
Below, I will briefly break down Tuesday afternoon’s matchup and further provide a “same-game-parlay” (SGP) betting angle that you can take whilst wagering on this divisional clash.
Leg 1: NRFI
For the front leg of our SGP for Tuesday afternoon’s contest, I favor backing there to be no runs scored in the first inning (NRFI).
Misiorowski has been nothing short of phenomenal to kick off his sophomore campaign pitching in the Major Leagues.
The 6'7 " strikeout king was an extremely highly-touted prospect, drawing comparisons to Hall of Famer Randy Johnson given the two’s lanky builds and overpowering velocity on the mound, with Milwaukee's youngster consistently clocking a 104 MPH four-seam fastball.
In 17 starts on the mound for the Brew Crew in 2026, Jacob has recorded an exceptional 1.47 ERA and a 0.78 WHIP – both of which rank first among starting pitchers in all of baseball.
Misiorowski’s punch-out prowess is shocking, with the righty having fanned an MLB-leading 156 hitters (Ks) over his 104 frames on the mound thus far.
The Brewers’ right-hander leads the National League Cy Young Award futures market by a rather substantial margin, at -225 to prevail just a few months into the season.
Though not as dominant as his Tuesday counterpart, the Cards’ McGreevy has been remarkably impressive on the bump as well.
In just over 95 frames on the mound in 2026, Saint Louis’ 25-year-old has posted a 3.12 ERA, which ranks among the top 20 among all starters.
McGreevy has been quite efficient as well, posting a 1.11 WHIP across 17 appearances on the mound this season.
That said, Tuesday afternoon’s NRFI prop should provide a solid foundation for our SGP ahead of this divisional showdown.
Leg 2: Brewers ML
For the second leg of our SGP on Tuesday afternoon, I will be looking to back the Brewers on the moneyline, given the unbelievable form of their young ace in his second season.
Though McGreevy has also been stellar, as aforementioned, Misiorowski is just on another level right now compared to any other starting pitcher in baseball.
In addition to the utter dominance of their phenom ace, the Brewers have one of the best records in MLB, with a lineup surging since the return of their premier slugger, OF Jackson Chourio.
Brewers moneyline should be a solid secondary betting angle, providing us with some great value for our SGP before I add a third final wager.
Leg 3: Jackson Chourio Over 1.5 Total Bases
For the last leg of our SGP ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s divisional showdown, I favor backing Brewers’ 22-year-old superstar to exceed his 1.5 Total Base (TB) mark, building upon his exceptional form at the plate since his return from the Injured-List (IL) resulting from his suffering an injury during a World Baseball Classic exhibition game.
In two previous plate appearances against McGreevy, Chourio recorded a base knock, which gives him a slight edge over the Saint Louis right-hander.
Given McGreevy frequently throws strikes low in the zone with the intent to retire opposing hitters via groundouts, this could prove problematic given Chourio’s elite barrel rate and high contact rate in the box.
The Brewers’ youngster boasts stellar exit velocities, particularly against pitchers who rely on contact to record outs.
Despite a phenomenal start to his third season pitching for the Cardinals, I feel great backing Jackson in this spot to record at least two Total Bases, which should round out our value SGP quite nicely.
SGP Picks:
