What was supposed to be today’s first playoff matchup and is now the only game on the Thursday slate is between the Seattle Mariners and the Houston Astros.

The Mariners will send out their deadline acquisition, Luis Castillo. Coming into today, Castillo is 19-6 to the NRFI with a 10-3 road NRFI split. A few of Castillos's most important matchups today will be against Alex Bregman, who is 0-for-3, and Yordan Alvarez, who is 1-for-3. It should be noted that Castillo has very limited appearances against this Astros team, leaving him the edge of unfamiliarity.

The Astros will counter with Framber Valdez. Coming into today, Valdez is 25-6 to the NRFI with a 10-4 home NRFI split. Valdez's most noteworthy matchups today will be against Ty France, who is 2-for-10, Julio Rodriguez (0-for-3) and Dylan Moore, who's 3-for-12.

With these Astros hitters having limited swings against Castillo, paired with Framber as the second-best NRFI option today at home, the -150 price tag over on FanDuel makes this NRFI playable.

Pick: NRFI -150 (FanDuel)
