Sporting close to inverse records, the 10-4 Twins and 5-10 Royals will match up tonight in Kansas City from opposite ends of the AL Central standings.

With that in mind, it's probably not a shock to see the majority of bettors — two-thirds to be exact — taking the Twins, who opened at -190 at DraftKings. What may be a little more surprising, though, is that Minnesota is now down to just -159 despite that popularity.

Thanks to sharp action — evidenced by big bets and steam moves — on the Royals, this game has pushed significantly toward Kansas City.

The 34% of bettors on the Royals have generated an impressive 89% of actual money hitting the moneyline, meaning bigger bettors — the ones more likely to be sharps — have been taking the underdog.

In addition, a pair of Sports Insights Bet Signals in the form of steam moves have been triggered at +152 and +144. Steam refers to a sudden, drastic market move caused by a heavy dose of money hitting the same side of a bet at once, and is a strong indication of professional action.

It's been the total rather than the moneyline catching sharps' attention in this one. Even though bets are essentially split down the middle (52% on the over), sportsbooks have still found reason to raise the total from 8.5 to 9.

That reason has once again been big bets from sharper bettors.

In this case, the 52% of bettors on the over have accounted for 70% of money, and another three Bet Signals have hit the over — with none on the under — confirming the sharp backing of a higher-scoring game.
