This one's a bit of a double-edged sword because we are getting deep in the year, since pitchers don't go as deep as they generally do.
We do, however, have the confounding factor of the Rangers being in the playoff hunt here.
So you could see it either way, where like if MacKenzie Gore's pitching well, the Rangers will let him go, or if he's not pitching well, they're gonna have a quick hook with him.
I think it helps that they don't have a particularly good bullpen for the chances of him being left in a little bit longer. but 14 and a half outs is a low prop. all he has to do is complete five innings, and I have him projected to do that about six about two-thirds of the time.
I'm also targeting Mets pitcher Sean Manaea.
I like his over on 15.5 outs +158 at Kalshi, the best odds on the board. I like it down to +105.
A lot of traditional books have 14.5 outs up that are super juiced, like -170 or -180. I'm fine taking it to like -180 or -190 if the 14.5 is all you have.
The Mets are obviously out of the playoff race, and they don't have a lot to play for here.
But Manaea is not like a young guy that they need to worry about or keep on a short leash. Like he should be, pretty much normal here and good to go.
So assuming he's pitching well enough, which he gets a big park upgrade here going into into Texas, I think he should be able to to clear 15.5 enough times to make it worth it at at such a high such a high price.
