The Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners are both struggling to stay relevant in the standings this year.

The Mariners made the playoffs last year, but they find themselves at 33-34 and eight and a half games back of the first place Texas Rangers in the American League West entering play Friday. Chicago has a worse record at 30-40, but it trails the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central by only five and a half games entering play Friday.

Two American League teams struggling to hang on as the season slowly slips away — who will be able to get the job done and get the win Friday night?

The Parlay (+558):

  • Michael Kopech Over 6.5 Strikeouts
  • Jake Burger 2+ Total Bases
  • White Sox Moneyline

Same-Game Parlay –  White Sox vs Mariners

Michael Kopech Over 6.5 Strikeouts

Kopech has gone over this number in four of his last five starts and has a 27% strikeout percentage this season.

The Mariners' projected lineup has a 24% strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching this season. Six hitters in the projected lineup have at least a 25% strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching this season.

I like Kopech to go over this number once again against a team that strikes out a decent amount against right-handed pitching.

Jake Burger 2+ Total Bases

It took a while for the White Sox to realize what they have in Jake Burger this season. Burger wasn't regularly playing and he was batting seventh when he did play earlier this season.

That's been corrected now as Burger is entrenched as the No. 5 hitter in the White Sox lineup. Burger has a ridiculous .327 ISO against right-handed pitching this season.

Rookie starter Bryan Woo will be making his second major league start here, and I believe Burger will take advantage. We just need a double or two singles to cover this leg.

White Sox Moneyline

I like the White Sox here. Chicago has the starting pitching advantage with Kopech against a rookie pitcher. The White Sox bullpen ERA is over a full run higher than Seattle's, at 4.74 compared to 3.68, but it has been better lately.

Chicago's offense has been good recently with the emergence of Burger and Luis Robert playing like a superstar. I think the odds are really good on the White Sox, and they're simply being underrated because they're on the road, but they just played tough every night of the series against a better team in the Dodgers on the road.

I like the White Sox to win and close out the same-game parlay.
