McGhee vs. Romero Pick, Prediction

Anthony Romero is replacing Bernardo Sopaj on short notice, after compiling a 7-2 record on the California regional scene.

He will face MMA Lab's Marcus McGhee, who had a competitive fight with and took a round off of current champion Petr Yan last year.

McGhee is extremely well-rounded, and this spot sets up as a likely finish for his record if he displays the appropriate level of aggression against a lesser, smaller opponent (McGhee is 3" taller with a 3" reach advantage); he failed to do so as a -430 favorite against John Yannis in June.

I project small edges both on McGhee to win inside the distance (projected -119, listed -105) and the fight to end inside the distance (projected -179, listed -145); I'm comfortable placing either wager.

Zerillo's Picks:

  • Marcus McGhee wins Inside the Distance (-105, 0.25u; DraftKings)
