We have three NBA props for this Wednesday, and our staff of basketball betting experts is focused on key players who could be in line for noteworthy performances in tonight's Game 2 between the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Continue below for my NBA player props for Wednesday, May 7.
NBA Player Props for Wednesday, May 7
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 32.5 Points
- Jalen Williams Over 10.5 Rebounds + Assists
- Nikola Jokic Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made
I'm tailing Matt Moore here, for similar reasons.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander got up 26 attempts in Game 1, and honestly, this number could've been higher. He's able to get the separation he needs, and Denver doesn't have a lot of answers defensively for SGA — or really any unless maybe Aaron Gordon has to switch onto him, but even then, that would be brutal against certain OKC lineups.
I don't expect this to be a series where SGA struggles to get his shots. The key here is whether his teammates are ready to step up.
Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams had Game 1's to remember, but this is a get right spot for the Thunder overall.
The only worry here is OKC winning via blowout, cutting into SGA's minutes. But if he's around 26 field goal attempts and double-digit free throw attempts, we should be in range.
Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 32.5 Points
Jalen Williams over 10.5 RA was my most played bet of Round 1.
In the playoffs, J Dub got exactly 11 RA in Games 1-3 against Memphis, and did it again in Game 1 of this series. He had 19 and 17 RA in two of four during the regular season against Denver. And he will nearly always be in range for this.
I especially like this in what should be a bounce back spot for OKC. Williams has a high floor here and in now five playoff games, he has been at five or more rebounds in all but one game, same for assists.
Pick: Jalen Williams Over 10.5 Rebounds + Assists
Another prop I've liked is Jokic threes.
And against OKC, he'll have the formula to hit over 1.5 consistently.
The Clippers series provided the opportunities because of how Ivica Zubac was guarding Jokic, and at times, enabling the multi-time MVP to opt for a shot from the perimeter as Denver's best option for certain possessions.
Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein could provide some of those same opportunities, which happened in Game 1.
Against L.A., Jokic made two or more threes in four of seven, including two 1-for-4 performances. He shot four or more threes all but twice. In Game 1 against OKC, he took six and made two.
If we think Denver will be playing from behind, results could be similar. During the regular season, Jokic averaged four three-point attempts in wins and six three-point attempts in losses.
Pick: Nikola Jokic Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made
