Brandon Kravitz's Pistons vs Magic Team Total Pick
Let’s be clear right out of the gate: do I trust this Magic offense? Absolutely not. If we are being realistic about today’s Game 7, Orlando’s inability to find consistent scoring is likely what is going to cost them the series and send them packing.
However, just because the Magic struggle to put the ball in the hoop doesn’t mean the Pistons’ offense is suddenly worth backing. In fact, if you look at how this series has played out, the Pistons' offensive ceiling has been surprisingly low for a top seed.
The betting math here is simple and stark: Detroit has failed to go over this 105.5 team total in five of the six games in this series. We’ve seen them put up totals of 101, 98, 105, 88, and most recently, a measly 93 points. The only time they managed to clear this mark was Game 5 where they hung 116. Outside of that outlier, this has been a half-court grind.
In Game 6, Orlando literally went through a historic drought where they couldn't make a shot to save their lives—missing 23 consecutive field goals and being held to just 8 points in the fourth quarter.
In a situation where any elite offense would have smelled blood and pushed the lead into the triple digits, the Pistons only managed to scrape together 93 points. They failed to capitalize on an unprecedented offensive collapse, proving that their scoring isn't just fluctuating—it’s bogged down by Orlando’s defensive scheme.
In a Game 7 environment where nerves are high and the pace traditionally slows to a crawl, I don't see Detroit suddenly finding 106 points.
The Magic defense is elite enough to keep this ugly, and the Pistons haven't shown they have the gears to break away. I'll back the Pistons to score less than 105.5 points in Game 7 today.
