2023 March Madness: Texas’ Odds to Make Final Four, Win Tournament

The Texas Longhorns are one step away from the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, and two from the opportunity to cut down the nets after routing No. 3 Xavier Friday in the Sweet 16.
The Longhorns are the second favorites to win March Madness, with odds of +350 at FanDuel. Texas’ odds to win the national championship are about 22.2%, according to our odds converter.
UConn is the favorite.
The Longhorns draw Miami in the Elite Eight, looking for just their second Final Four appearance since 1947.
Texas covered as four-point favorites over Xavier. The Longhorns were between -195 and -225 on the moneyline.
Texas was +200 to make the Final Four entering the week.
Before the start of the tournament, our senior editor Ryan Collinsworth identified six teams that were most likely to win March Madness.
Using the following criteria, he correctly identified the winner for the last three tournaments.
- Adjusted Offensive Efficiency (AdjO) of 113.9 or higher.
- Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (AdjD) of 96.2 or lower.
- Adjusted Efficiency Margin (AdjEM) of 23.83 or higher.
This year, six teams fit these parameters: Alabama, Houston, UConn, Purdue, UCLA.
The sixth team? Texas.
