Before the start of the tournament, our senior editor Ryan Collinsworth identified six teams that were most likely to win March Madness.

Using the following criteria, he correctly identified the winner for the last three tournaments.

  • Adjusted Offensive Efficiency (AdjO) of 113.9 or higher.
  • Adjusted Defensive Efficiency (AdjD) of 96.2 or lower.
  • Adjusted Efficiency Margin (AdjEM) of 23.83 or higher.

This year, six teams fit these parameters: Alabama, Houston, UConn, Purdue, UCLA.

The sixth team? Texas.
