Marquette and Creighton are two teams that have outside shots at a Big East crown, and it all starts with their opening matchup this afternoon.
The Blue Jays got the better of the Golden Eagles twice this year, defeating them in two remarkably tight games. In Milwaukee, it was a double OT thriller that Creighton got through to win, and in Omaha a one-point second-half margin was enough to get the job done.
Nonetheless, the Golden Eagles are favored again, this time on a neutral court. Both teams are virtual locks to make the tournament, but a nice run in the Big East Tournament would be useful in securing a better scenario come tourney time.
