Seattle Basketball

Seattle is a question mark for me. While its record is pretty on paper, it hasn't really played any noteworthy teams.

This will be the Redhawks' toughest test yet, and they catch Washington in Danny Sprinkle's best version.

The Redhawks have some positive metrics, especially offensively.

They rank 11th in 3-point field goal percentage and 49th in 2-point field goal percentage. They also rank 12th in overall effective field goal percentage, a great stat considering they also rank 15th in creating turnovers.

Extra possessions for a team that often finds itself with second-chance points is lethal.

Expect a big outing from their leader, senior guard Brayden Maldonado. He's scored at least 22 points in three of his last four games.

Washington Basketball

Washington is in its second season with Sprinkle at the helm, and this season is promising to be a lot better than its 13-18 effort a season ago.

Right off the bat, we can look at the Nevada win, a team the Huskies lost to last season.

This season's Huskies have been anchored by Wesley Yates III — a transfer from USC — and the Germany product Hannes Steinbach. They average a combined 33.9 points per game, and that combo will be a tough ask for Seattle to contain.

The Huskies also do a really good job of limiting turnovers, and Seattle does a great job of creating them.

Seattle vs. Washington Betting Analysis

I have a lot of reservations backing Seattle because I really don’t know how it'll respond to this large step up in class.

But history does provide ample evidence that it's a tough out in Seattle.

Washington has two of its three losses in road environments, and it also struggled against Southern on its home court. This spread is also 7.5 points, and I actually have this spread closer to four points.

That value will have us on the underdog.

My Pick: Seattle +7.5 (Play to +6.5)
