Virginia is a tried and true basketball state. Whoever doesn't believe that, hasn't spent much time in Virginia.
There's no bigger game in the state than when the Virginia Tech Hokies clash with the Virginia Cavaliers in a massive rivalry game.
Virginia is not what they've been in years past under head coach Tony Bennett. They are now a middling ACC team that is well-equipped to beat just about anybody and lose to just about anybody. The Cavs are 9-6 on the season with some shocking losses to teams such as Navy and James Madison.
That makes this game in Charlottesville that much more interesting. Virginia Tech holds an 8-6 record and is 0-3 to start ACC play. But KenPom has them ranked as the No. 31 team in the country which means they are better than what their record shows.
This is a massive game in the ACC and Action Network has tracked sharp action and big money coming in on one side.
