Wake Forest at NC State Odds

  • Spread: NC State -7.5
  • Over/Under: 151.5
  • Time: 7 p.m. ET
  • TV: ACC Network

Wake Forest (13-16, 16-13 ATS) has lost seven straight conference road games. The Demon Deacons are 1-8 straight up in conference road games and are losing those contests by an average of 9.6 points per game. With a loss at NC State, they would be one of four ACC teams playing on Tuesday in the first round of the conference tournament.

Wake Forest ranks in the bottom three in the conference in defensive efficiency and is one of the worst teams in the country at forcing turnovers, per KenPom. Offensively, its primary strength is three-point shooting, ranking third in the conference.

NC State (18-12, 13-17 ATS) needs a win to even their conference record at 10-10. Since their big 22-point win over Duke, the Wolfpack have lost three of their last four games.

Ranking third in the conference in temp and average possession length, NC State likes to push the pace offensively. Its biggest weakness is keeping their opponents off the offensive glass, ranking second-to-last in the ACC in terms of offensive rebounding percentage allowed.

The Wolfpack never trailed in their first meeting with Wake Forest, winning 91-82 on the road in December. NC State shot 52.3% from the field in that game, including a blistering 54.5% from 3-point range. They won the rebounding battle 33-29 and forced 19 turnovers.

After allowing at least 71 points in each of its last seven road games, Wake Forest will struggle defending NC State's offense. All of the Wolfpack starters shoot better than 40% from the field, and the Wolfpack are running out of opportunities to improve their NCAA Tournament resume. Seniors Markell Johnson and CJ Bryce will put on a show on Senior Night, paving the way for a comfortable Wolfpack win.

Pick: NC State -7.5
