Welcome to our weekly Havoc Rankings, where the volatility of offenses and defenses will be graded for potential wagering.
New Mexico has run away with the lead in Defensive Havoc, dominating the Mountain West with 54 tackles for loss and 28 passes defensed.
The safest offense continues to be the rush-heavy Air Force attack, failing to drop a single fumble this season. The Falcons have allowed just 13 tackles for loss, eclipsed only by the offensive lines of Miami and BYU.
For those unfamiliar, Havoc is the collection of stats that can derail offensive momentum on the defensive side of the ball, including tackles for loss, pass breakups, forced fumbles, interceptions, and sacks.
Havoc allowed, meanwhile, is a stat used to quantify an offense's ability to avoid chaos that creates a negative play. Offenses that are elite in Havoc allowed have a low number of fumbles, interceptions, and tackles for loss allowed.
Let's take a look at our college football picks for Baylor vs. Kansas and Week 8 Havoc Rankings for the upcoming week.

There's a massive discrepancy in the Big 12 between the Baylor defense and the Kansas offense.
Baylor defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman has transformed the Bears' defense, as none of its first six opponents scored 20 or more points.
A top-10 Defensive Havoc ranking can be attributed to Baylor’s strength in tackles for loss, passes defensed, and forcing five fumbles on the season.
Fumbles have been a big concern for the Kansas offense, which has already dropped 10 on the carpet this season.
The Jayhawks have one of the more explosive and highly combustible quarterbacks in college football in Isaiah Marshall.
The sophomore has excelled in coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s offense this season, thriving on the downfield pass with an electric 29% big-time throw rate on 41 attempts beyond 20 yards.
The issue comes in the game-changing mistakes: committing six fumbles and only five interceptions on 11 turnover-worthy plays.
Expect Klanderman to throw a few kinks in disguised coverage to take advantage of Marshall’s penchant for deep throws.
The Kansas offense has been an exciting watch this season, but the Baylor defense has put half of its 2026 schedule in a defensive grinder this season. That shouldn't stop in Week 8.
Pick: Baylor -3
