SURVIVOR fans in Alberta have another way to explore the show’s island-themed world. BetMGM Casino announced the launch of SURVIVOR Fire & Gold, bringing its exclusive SURVIVOR slot collection in the province to six titles.
The new game draws on familiar parts of the reality series, including Tribal Council, Reward Challenge, and its signature “Outwit, Outplay, Outlast” themes. It also adds a progression system that unlocks features as players collect symbols.
Alberta online casinos and sports betting launched in July. BetMGM has experienced a strong start in the area, and this latest launch is expected to add to it.
What is SURVIVOR?
SURVIVOR is a reality television competition in which contestants live in a remote location, compete in challenges, form alliances, and vote one another out. It combines outdoor survival with social strategy.
How the show works:
- Contestants start in teams called tribes and live with limited food, supplies, and shelter.
- They compete in physical and mental challenges to win rewards or immunity—protection from elimination.
- At Tribal Council, contestants vote someone out.
Later, the tribes merge and players compete individually. A jury of eliminated contestants ultimately chooses the winner, known as the “Sole Survivor.” The U.S. version awards a $1 million grand prize.
What Is SURVIVOR Fire & Gold?
SURVIVOR Fire & Gold is an online slot developed through BetMGM’s partnership with Jogo Global and Banijay Rights. According to the announcement, the game is available exclusively at BetMGM Casino in Alberta.
Its design takes recognizable elements from SURVIVOR and builds them into a casino game. Instead of simply using the show’s name, the title includes features inspired by its challenges, settings, and elimination format.
The game is built around discovery and progression. Players collect symbols through a feature called Trail Unlock, which introduces additional features as play continues. It comes on the heels of BetMGM's launch of the Survivor 50 slot earlier this year.
Familiar SURVIVOR Themes Shape the Gameplay
Three colored torches represent Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast. Each torch activates a different gameplay enhancement, giving the show’s central themes a role in the slot’s design.
Other elements borrow names that longtime viewers will recognize:
- Last One Standing
- Reward Challenge
- Tribal Council
- Exile Island
The game also includes features called Jungle Reveal, Sling Shot, Fire Maker, and Power Play.
The announcement names these features but does not explain their full rules, payout effects, or activation requirements. Those details would be needed for a more complete review of how the slot plays.
All Six SURVIVOR Slots at BetMGM Casino in Alberta
Fire & Gold joins five other SURVIVOR-branded titles in BetMGM’s Alberta collection:
- SURVIVOR Fire & Gold
- SURVIVOR – Outwit – Outplay – Outlast
- SURVIVOR Lucky Tap
- SURVIVOR Triple Challenge
- SURVIVOR 50
- SURVIVOR Last Step
The expanded lineup gives the franchise a larger presence in BetMGM Casino’s local catalog. Although the games share the SURVIVOR brand, the announcement does not provide enough information to compare their mechanics, bonus features, or payout structures.
The Partnership Behind the Launch
The collection brings together three businesses with different roles. BetMGM offers the games through its casino platform, Jogo Global is the gaming partner, and Banijay Rights represents the entertainment brand.
Rob Passerino, BetMGM’s Director of Gaming, described the new release as part of the company’s focus on exclusive entertainment brands. Jogo Global CEO David Marcus pointed to the launch as another step in the companies’ ongoing partnership.
For Banijay Rights, the collection extends SURVIVOR into another entertainment format. The television franchise was created by Charlie Parsons, and is credited with 50 adaptations and more than 400 seasons worldwide.
What the Announcement Does—and Does Not—Tell Players
The launch confirms the addition of another branded slot to BetMGM’s Alberta offering. It also outlines the game’s themes and names several features.
However, it does not provide some details that readers may want before assessing the game:
- Return-to-player percentage, or RTP
- Volatility
- Minimum and maximum bets
- Maximum potential payout
- Full bonus-feature rules
Without that information, this announcement is best understood as a launch overview rather than a full game review. It also does not establish that BetMGM is the best online casino in Canada or that the title is available in every province.
Responsible Gambling Resources
The release also highlights BetMGM’s responsible gambling resources, including GameSense. The program was developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and licensed to MGM Resorts.
The SURVIVOR theme gives Fire & Gold its identity, while its rules and payout information remain important parts of understanding the game beyond its branding.
