NFL Week 5 delivers four games worth clearing the schedule for. A lot of these teams where BetRivers operates are in action this Sunday, with the Giants vs. Commanders (1 p.m. ET, FOX), Browns vs. Jets (1 p.m. ET, CBS), Colts vs. Steelers (1 p.m. ET, CBS), and the game with the highest total of the slate, Lions vs. Cardinals (4:25 p.m. ET, FOX).
Each matchup pairs well with the BetRivers bonus code. Bettors who back a side, a total, or a moneyline this week and watch that bet miss still get a 2nd Chance Bet, up to $500, in bonus funds. That cushion turns the slate into a lower-risk opportunity to test picks against four intriguing matchups at one of the top credit card sportsbooks.

BetRivers NFL Odds: Predictions for Week 5 Games
- Giants at Commanders (-3.5) – Total: 41.5 | 1 p.m. ET, FOX
- Browns at Jets (-2.5) – Total: 39.5 | 1 p.m. ET, CBS
- Colts at Steelers (-2.5) – Total: 43.5 | 1 p.m. ET, CBS
- Lions (-5.5) at Cardinals – Total: 54 | 4:25 PM ET on FOX
Giants vs. Commanders: Under 41.5 Points (-110)
Washington’s defense held opponents under 20 points in three of four games this season, and the Giants lean on a run-first approach that limits possessions. Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in pace, and neither quarterback often pushes the ball downfield. The under cashes in a close, low-scoring game that stays tight through four quarters.
Jets (-2.5) vs. Browns
New York enters as the home favorite despite a rough start, and Cleveland’s offense ranks near the bottom of the league in yards per game. The Jets defense creates enough pressure to force mistakes from a Browns unit still searching for consistency. Home field and a clearer offensive plan push the Jets past the number.
Steelers (-2.5) vs. Colts
Pittsburgh’s defense forces turnovers at a high rate, and Aaron Rodgers continues to find rhythm with his receivers. Indianapolis travels into a tough environment at Acrisure Stadium, where crowd noise disrupts road offenses. The Steelers win outright behind a strong defensive showing.
Lions vs. Cardinals: Over 54 Points (-110)
Detroit’s offense ranks among the league's most explosive, and Arizona’s defense struggles to contain big plays through the air. Both teams play at a fast pace, and the Cardinals keep up by scoring in bunches. The total climbs past 54.5 in a shootout at State Farm Stadium.
