It’s been a roller coaster two-game stretch for Sadiq after going 7/105/1 and then 0/0/0. I mentioned on Fantasy Flex that the eruption game was basically best case: AD Mitchell and Mason Taylor were both out, and he got the Lions defense. His underlying usage was still fine last week, but the Jets got crushed in time of possession, so this would normally be a pretty obvious buy-low spot on who I still think is the most talented TE in this rookie class.
There are just too many things working against him here.
Mason Taylor returns, and while he’s not a huge threat to Sadiq’s target share, he does matter for playing time. Sadiq averaged just a 41% routes run rate with Taylor active the first two weeks and 62% with him out. I’m projecting closer to 55% here, and even that might be a little generous.
The Browns also play man coverage at the highest rate in the league, and Sadiq still doesn’t have a catch on 9 routes against Cover 1. A lot of his production has come underneath with yards after the catch, which gets tougher against man. He’s also produced more when Geno is pressured, but a lot of that came against Detroit, where the pressure comes with a much softer secondary. Browns secondary is much better than the Lions.
The game script could work against him too. The Jets are rare 2.5-point favorites, so I’m expecting a more run-heavy environment, especially if Watson’s interception luck finally catches up to him. Add in the chance of rain, and most of the underlying factors are pointing the same way.
The main thing Sadiq has going for him is that he’s really talented. But I have him closer to 27.5 receiving yards with around a 60% chance to stay under 32.5.

Much has been made of Watson's INT luck, and while it is true with just two picks on seven TWPs, we also have to consider longer-term form and the matchup.
Watson's career INT rate is 2.1% both with Houston and with Cleveland. At his consensus line of 31 pass attempts, that's a projection of 0.65 INTs, which is an average not a median. At that projection, he'd throw no INTs around 52% of the time.
The Browns also have a nice passing game matchup where Watson shouldn't face a ton of pressure, with the Jets ranking near the bottom of the league in pressure rate.
The defenses Watson has faced have also been ball hogs, all ranking in the top half in passes defended and INTs per game, so his deserved INTs per game will look inflated since he's played a tough schedule.
The Jets? They rank fourth worst in passes defended and have just one pick on the year.
They forced just one TWP total against Cam Ward and Jordan Love (0.5 per game), who have a combined 11 in their six other starts (1.83 per game). In all, the Jets have just TWPs forced in four games, or 0.5 per game
Since just over half of all TWPs turn into INTs, that means they are forcing around 0.25-0.3 expected INTs per game so far...gross. And by passes defended, they've forced around just 0.56 expected INTs per game, well below league average of 0.7 or so.
So Watson's 0.65 projection above would be against an average defense, but the Jets are far below average. They play the fifth-most two-high safety in the league including the most Cover 2, which is why teams are throwing passes on them with the third-shortest average depth of target. Short passes have a lower interception rate.
Finally, my projection has Watson throwing less than the 31 attempts the market implies, in part thanks to the weather which calls for near consistent rain and wind with gusts into the 20s, but also because I think they cover, and possibly win outright here. The Browns are healthier and fit one of my injury-based betting systems, and dominate the OL/DL matchup in the Luck Rankings Dashboard.
I have Watson pretty strongly favored to not throw a pick here.

This is a great buy low spot on New York at home against a Cleveland team that is very fortunate to sit 3-1. The Browns rank #2 in our Luck Rankings, and despite winning and covering three straight games as underdogs, I think they’re due for some regression. Cleveland has led for just 27% of its offensive snaps this season. Give them credit for finding ways to win, but that isn’t a profile I trust to keep producing results. Todd Monken has done a good job managing Deshaun Watson and limiting what this offense asks him to do, but the passing numbers are less impressive than they look. Watson has completed 69% of his passes, yet his average depth of target is just 6.3 yards, ranking 24th out of qualified QBs. Even with those shorter, easier throws, he ranks 21st in completion percentage over expectation at -2.6%. I don’t think this offense is consistently efficient enough downfield to keep overcoming unfavorable game scripts. On the other side, I really like how Geno Smith and Garrett Wilson match up against Cleveland’s defensive approach. The Browns generate pressure on 40.4% of opposing dropbacks, but Smith has been excellent under pressure this season, posting a 117.2 passer rating and averaging 9.5 yards per attempt. He also leads the NFL in completion percentage over expectation. Cleveland’s pass rush is dangerous, but Geno has shown he can produce when defenders get into the backfield. The Browns have leaned heavily on man coverage, particularly Cover 1, during their winning streak. That creates opportunities for Wilson, who is averaging 3.9 yards per route run against man coverage while commanding a 38% target share. The run game is another major angle. Cleveland ranks 27th in yards per carry allowed and has surrendered explosive runs at a league high 15% rate. Now the Browns are without Mason Graham, Mike Hall Jr. and Kalia Davis on the defensive interior. Breece Hall being out hurts New York, but this is still an opportunity to establish the run, stay ahead of the sticks and keep Cleveland’s pass rush from taking over. Successful early down runs should also give Geno better opportunities off play action. I like the matchup and the bounce back setting for the Jets at home. Our model makes New York a -187 moneyline favorite with a fair spread of Jets -4.69. That supports the matchup advantages I see here. I’m backing the Jets to get the win and bring Cleveland’s fortunate start back down to earth.

There may be some value on the receptions prop for Kenyon Sadiq. THE BLITZ is projecting him to record 3.00 receptions, and the oddsmakers are implying 3.62. The model believes there is a 66% chance he records fewer than 3.5 receptions. If you can get the under at -115 or better, there is some great value here. This play is good down to at least -133.
