Someone will be kicking off the holiday season with a bit of extra spending cash for presents.
The Mohegan Sun Casino will hold its annual Fall Showdown Poker Tournament. It is back, and set to take place from November 19th to the 22nd.
This event, held at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, is a prime attraction for poker players because of its $100,000 prize pool.
For a $600 entry fee, participants receive 30,000 tournament chips.
They have the option to purchase an additional 5,000 chips for $10. The tournament has a "no limit" structure, and the top 12% of players from each starting day will advance to Day 2, ensuring they win some money.
The tournament features three initial days:
- Day 1A: November 19th
- Day 1B: November 20th
- Day 1C: November 21st
All sessions start at 11:10 AM, with the final Day 2 on November 22nd. Players can re-enter multiple times until the beginning of Level 9.
The Mohegan Sun Casino recently announced awarding a jackpot of nearly $2 million on a $5 bet. It also handed out one of the biggest jackpots of the year over the summer. Another lucky player hit a jackpot for nearly $1.4 million on a slot machine.
Mohegan Sun Casino Also Offers Satellite Tournaments
For those looking for a less expensive entry, satellite tournaments offer a chance to win a spot in the main event for $155.
These smaller tournaments, held on Mondays and Wednesdays early in November, give players a one-in-five chance of advancing.
Apart from the main event, Mohegan Sun Casino’s Poker Room hosts daily tournaments, including “No Limit Texas Hold’em” and other popular poker games. Cash games are also available for players who prefer different formats, such as 7 Card Stud or Omaha.
