In an impressive display of growth, Michigan online casinos have posted record-breaking revenues for both December 2025 and the full year, according to the latest report from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).
In December alone, Michigan's commercial and tribal online casinos in The Wolverine State reported a staggering $315.8 million in gross receipts.
This beat the previous record set in October by a large margin. For the whole year, the state generated $3.1 billion in annual iGaming revenue, far exceeding the $2.44 billion recorded in 2024.
Where the Revenue Goes: Taxes and Fees
The booming iGaming industry also contributed significantly to state and local revenues.
For December, Michigan collected a little more than $62 million in iGaming taxes and fees. The City of Detroit, home to three major casinos, received almost $14 million.
Meanwhile, tribal operators contributed $8.5 million to their governing bodies. These funds play a crucial role in supporting public services and infrastructure.
Over the course of 2025, state iGaming taxes and fees amounted to $597.5 million, with Detroit's casinos bringing in $152.6 million. These figures underscore the positive financial impact of the iGaming industry on Michigan's economy.

Top Performers in Michigan's iGaming Market
Several online casinos stood out in December for their impressive revenue results. Partnered with Detroit's MotorCity Casino, FanDuel Casino led the pack with $76.9 million.
BetMGM Casino, in collaboration with MGM Grand Detroit, wasn't far behind, generating nearly $68 million.
DraftKings Casino, working with the Bay Mills Indian Community, ranked third with $45.3 million, while newcomer Hard Rock Bet, teamed with the Hannahville Indian Community, clinched fourth place after its debut, generating $35.7 million.
Other notable earners included BetRivers Casino, Caesars Palace Online Casino, and Fanatics Casino, each making strong contributions to the state's iGaming revenue.

How Michigan Compares to Other States
While Michigan celebrated its achievements, New Jersey and Pennsylvania also experienced growth in their iGaming sectors.
New Jersey's 26 online casinos earned just over $273 million in December, with an annual total of $2.91 billion. Pennsylvania reported a similar surge, with $259.7 million in December and a yearly total of roughly $3 billion.
Despite these impressive numbers, Michigan outpaced both states, securing the top spot in the U.S. for gross iGaming revenue in 2025.
With its rapid growth since legalizing online gaming in January 2021, Michigan stands as a leader in the industry, showcasing the potential economic benefits of iGaming.
| State | 2025 iGaming revenue (USD billions) |
|---|---|
| Michigan | $3.10 |
| Pennsylvania | $3.00+ (approx. 3.0) |
| New Jersey | $2.91 |
