Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview: Dumpster Fire Rages On

The Chargers are a complete mess. There is absolutely nothing to like about this team right now.

Los Angeles failed to cover as a 7.5-point underdog last week despite a +4 turnover margin — a statistical anomaly where teams with five turnovers and a +4 margin were previously 108-1 ATS.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh's decision to go for it on 4th-and-10 down one score with five minutes left and all his timeouts was utterly mind-boggling.

To make matters worse, Los Angeles' offensive line currently leads the league in penalties, Quentin Johnston continues to drop wide-open third-down passes, and the rushing attack is statistically even worse than the anemic passing game.

This Chargers team is fundamentally broken at the moment.

Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview: Not Concerned by the Bizarre Loss

The Seahawks suffered a bizarre, fluky loss last week in Washington despite posting an 86th percentile offensive success rate and an 89th percentile defensive success rate. They became the only team since 2022 to lose a game while clearing 85% on both sides of the ball.

Mike Macdonald’s defense is a brick wall early in games, having gone roughly 20 straight contests without allowing an opening-drive touchdown.

Sam Darnold is back under center, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been virtually unguardable regardless of who is playing QB, averaging a staggering 5.5 yards per route run.

While rookie running back Jadarian Price has seen his workload reduced due to fumbling issues — getting just five carries for 15 yards last week as Emanuel Wilson took reps — Seattle's passing attack and defensive structure remain elite.

Chargers vs Seahawks Prediction, Betting Analysis

You cannot ask for a better mismatch.

Mike Macdonald is an elite defensive mind going up against a broken Chargers offense that constantly shoots itself in the foot with penalties, dropped passes, and terrible fourth-down decisions.

Seattle should have plenty of motivation at home following a fluky box-score loss, and Los Angeles simply does not have the interior offensive line competence to survive in one of the loudest environments in sports.

I'll lay the touchdown with the Seahawks.

Pick: Seahawks -7 (-115)
