Giants vs Eagles odds for Christmas Day have Philadelphia listed as a 14-point favorite on the spread. The over/under sits at 42.5 total points for the penultimate game of NFL Week 16. My NFL pick for this game is backing the big home favorite.
Philadelphia has lost three straight games after holding the best record in the NFL. The good news for the Eagles is that they are back in first place in the NFC East after the Cowboys lost to the Dolphins on Sunday. Philadelphia has an easy schedule — on paper — against the Giants (twice) and Cardinals as it tries to win out and claim the division.

Giants vs Eagles Prediction
The Eagles have been on a brutal run of competition over the past few weeks, and it caught up to them in the form of a three-game losing streak. They have played the Cowboys (twice), Chiefs, Bills, 49ers and Seahawks over their last six games.
That run includes the first (49ers), third (Bills), fifth (Chiefs) and sixth (Cowboys)-ranked teams in the NFL by DVOA. The Seahawks are the only team outside of that group, but they're not too far off (13th) and boast arguably the best home-field advantage in the league.
Many people, myself included, have done well fading the Eagles over the last few weeks. However, public sentiment has maybe gone too far against Philadelphia now. This is still a top-10 team capable of an offensive explosion at any point.
Jalen Hurts was battling an illness against Seattle and injuries prior to that, but he is expected to be healthy for this game.
The Giants have the 25th-ranked defense (per DVOA). Derek Carr had arguably his best game of the season last week against the Giants; New York also been horrible against the run, which is great news for this dynamic Eagles rushing attack.
Hurts, D'Andre Swift, Kenneth Gainwell and Giant-killer Boston Scott should all run effectively.

The Giants offense led by Tommy DeVito likely won't have the same kind of success. The Saints sold out to defend the run and held Saquon Barkley to just 14 yards on nine carries. DeVito only averaged only 5.2 yards per attempt through the air.
The Saints stopped the run and took away any pass that would pick up first-down yardage and instead let DeVito try to win the game on screen passes or dare him to take an actual deep shot. Taking away the middle of the field — and DeVito's bread and butter of midrange passes of 10-15 yards — was a massive success for the Saints.
The Eagles defense looked much better last week with Matt Patricia on the sidelines calling plays. Transitioning from that brutal stretch of games to a home game against DeVito will be a welcome change of pace. Expect a statement game from the Eagles defense as they should follow the same game plan as the Saints.
Special teams also will be another mismatch. The Eagles are elite and rank first in special teams DVOA. Braden Mann has been solid punting while Jake Elliott has converted 24-of-26 field goals, including some bombs from distance.
On the other side, the Giants are 25th in special teams DVOA and are starting their third kicker of the year in Cade York, who was cut by the Browns in preseason because of poor performance.
The Giants should struggle to find the end zone and the lack of a consistent kicking game will only make it harder for them to get points on the board.

Ultimately, the Eagles are the better team in every aspect and they should be pretty motivated by people already writing them off. Their schedule has been brutal and now they have an opportunity to take out their anger on a vastly inferior opponent.
