Marquez Valdes-Scantling Over 33.5 Receiving Yards
I was able to cash in betting against MVS on Monday night by taking his under 3.5 receptions. He failed to catch a pass on four targets. That sort of stat line is not uncommon for Valdes-Scantling, who failed to catch a pass in five games last season.
I’m going the other way on Valdes-Scantling for tonight’s game as I see a great buy-low opportunity on his market. He’s operating as the No. 2 WR in this offense and saw 112 air yards last week, yet came up empty. It’s only a matter of time before he erupts with that sort of underlying usage and he could easily clear this prop tonight on a single catch.
Speedster Quez Watkins was able to dust the 49ers’ shaky secondary for 2/117 last week, which is a good sign for MVS. I’m projecting him closer to 42.5 tonight and would bet it up to 37.5.
