Campbell has failed to clear this line in nine of 14 games this season, with Matt Ryan and Sam Ehlinger taking the snaps. Now with the latest quarterback switch to Nick Foles, I’m still looking to fade Campbell's longest reception line.
The former Buckeye’s average depth of target (5.7 yards) is the lowest amongst Colts rotation receivers and tight ends. In fact, only three of his 71 targets this season have traveled at least 19 air yards.
He’s more of a YAC threat, and I don’t see him breaking one loose. The Chargers rank 11th in Football Outsiders' DVOA metric against short passes, and rank 10th overall against the pass since Week 10.
The Chargers are weaker against the run, and I expect the Colts to continue to deploy their ground attack, even without Jonathan Taylor.
With a cold quarterback coming in and limited volume expected, I like Campbell to stay under this line.
Pick: Parris Campbell Under 18.5 Longest Reception |
