Tyreek Hill has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup against the Jets as he continues to recover from his ankle injury. Hill didn’t practice all week and was listed as questionable after injuring the ankle during the Dolphins' loss to the Titans. Despite running routes during pre-game warm ups to test his ankle, the Dolphins appear to be taking extreme caution with their star wide receiver.

The Dolphins were consensus 8.5-point favorites before inactives came out, and moved to -7 across the market after he was deemed inactive. The total, which opened 40.5 and was listed around 37 before Hill was ruled out, is down to 35.5 since the news brok.

Hill is the runaway favorite for Offensive Player of the Year, and is in the midst of arguably the greatest season by a wide receiver in NFL history. He leads the league in receiving yards (1,542) and touchdowns (12), and ranks second with 97 receptions. Most notably, perhaps, is that he’s only 422 yards shy of passing Calvin Johnson for the most receiving yards in a single season (1,964).

Hill is averaging 118.6 yards per game, and was on pace for 2,016 yards over a full 17 game season before being ruled out against New York. He would have needed to average 105.7 yards over his final four games to set a new NFL record. However, now that he’s missing Sunday’s game, he’ll need to average 141.0 yards per contest in Miami’s final three games against the Cowboys, Ravens and Bills.

Hill is +1600 to win MVP at DraftKings, which is fifth-lowest behind Dak Prescott (+150), Brock Purdy (+185), Lamar Jackson (+475) and Jalen Hurts (+650).  He’s one of only two non-quarterbacks among the top 14 players. Christian McCaffrey is the other at +4000.

The Dolphins are also among the Super Bowl favorites thanks largely to Hill’s magnificent season. They’re tied with the Cowboys for the fifth-lowest odds (+850), trailing the 49ers (+230), Ravens (+550), Eagles (+700) and Chiefs (+700).
