Devils vs. Hurricanes Preview, Prediction
By Dana Forden
Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton has just a miserable matchup.
Last season and in 2023-24, the Hurricanes were the best team in the league at limiting shots. They are especially good at doing that to opposing defensemen, limiting them to 75% of the average team last season.
This game is in Carolina. On top of that, it was a question of whether or not Hamilton or Luke Hughes would be on the top power-play unit, and at practice yesterday, it was Hughes.
Hamilton shoots the puck a lot on the power play, so the loss of those premium minutes matters.
Best Bet: Dougie Hamilton Under 2.5 Shots On Goal (-175, bet365)
