The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers meet in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final at 8 p.m. ET tonight.

The game will be played at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, and will be broadcast on TNT, TruTV and streamed live on Max.

The ghost of Game 2 struck Edmonton again. After making a remarkable comeback in Game 4, the Oilers played like they weren't ready for the big time. It wasn't as vicious and scrappy as it was in Game 3, but it's clear that despite this being anyone's series, the Panthers are very much in the driver's seat.

Edmonton Oilers Preview: Depth Reigns Supreme

Edmonton's been here before. It's hardly a tall task anymore.

Last season, when these two teams faced off in the Stanley Cup Final, the Panthers took a 3-0 lead, only for the Oilers to win three straight games to even it up.

I don't think the Oilers are worried.

But what can we say about the performance they gave in Game 5? With a raucous Rogers Place and momentum on their side, the Oilers turtled and looked like a team that had zero skin in the game.

Calvin Pickard did what he could, but it got to be too much. Brad Marchand made Edmonton look foolish when he scored the third goal of the game with 14:48 left in the third period.

And even though Connor McDavid did his darnedest to catapult the Oilers back, they gave it back up right away, ruining any hope for a comeback.

Nothing they did worked, and it seemed like they were skating in mud, until they realized they needed to pick it back up.

Every Oiler had an expected goals percentage under 50%, while 90% of the Panthers were at 55% or better.

I also wonder what coach Kris Knoblauch is going to do about the goaltender. Looking back, starting Pickard may have been a panic move. The Oilers weren't giving Stuart Skinner any leeway in Game 4; bringing in Pickard was the only option to wake the team up.

But perhaps, riding with Skinner in Game 5 would've been the right way to go. Now, Knoblauch is in a lose/lose situation with the locker room. Ride with Skinner now, you signal that you're panicking more. Ride with Pickard, and you play with a low-upside goalie who's been a backup his whole career.

Florida Panthers Preview: Highs and Lows

All Florida has to do to start Game 6 is to do what it's been doing.

Attack, attack, attack.

The Panthers have demonstrated that being aggressive against the Oilers has worked significantly in their favor. Since Game 3, Florida has owned the first period, scoring seven goals to Edmonton's zero.

And the depth is showing out big time.

It's gotten to the point where the Panthers don't even need their captain, Aleksander Barkov, to do much. Marchand has been doing the dirty work, Sam Bennett can't seem to stop scoring, Matthew Tkachuk has been revived, and Sam Reinhart is apparently the game's smartest player, according to Wayne Gretzky.

How could you not be bullish if you're a Florida fan or bettor?

The Panthers need to stick to their game to end the game with the Cup in their hands, but it's hard when you have the league's two best players standing in your way.

In not-so-surprising news, Sergei Bobrovsky has been lights out. MoneyPuck doesn't seem to think he was great, with a -0.08 GSAx, but you could argue that the two goals he let up in Game 5 weren't his fault.

For the most part, at home, he's been decent, posting a .908 SV% in front of the Cats and Rats, but now and then, he's susceptible to a clunker.

Last Cup Finals, when the Panthers were up 3-0, Bobrovsky had an awful closing save percentage, with a sub-.800 SV%, which is incredibly unlike him.

So if history has any semblance of repeating itself, Bob better be on his game tonight.

Panthers vs. Oilers Best Bet

This series has been pure pandemonium since the first puck was dropped, but that's par for the course when these two teams square off.

The fact is, Edmonton's goalies are not going to limit the opportunities that Florida will throw at them. It's just too much.

The Panthers haven't had a game where they've scored under three goals, and when the Oilers lose a game by two or more goals in the playoffs, McDavid and Leon Draisaitl wake up. McDavid averages 1.76 points per game, while Draisaitl averages 1.23 in those types of situations.

You know I love my Oiler overs. I have a feeling that with the Cup on the line, it may just be total mayhem in Sunrise.

Pick: Over 6.5 (+100)
