Senators vs. Sabres Preview

The Senators are slumping lately, going 4-5-1 in their last 10 games.

This is a team that badly misses its starting goaltender, Linus Ullmark, who is currently sidelined with a lower-body strain. Backup Samuel Ersson has struggled as Ullmark's replacement, posting a 3.79 GAA and .866 SV% this season. Ottawa has allowed 4+ goals in three of their last four games, including six vs. the Kings and Ducks.

On the other side, the Sabres are starting to play well, currently on a three-game winning streak. What makes this more impressive is that it came on the tail end of their four-game road trip, where they went on the West Coast to take on the Sharks, Ducks, and Kings.

Given the opposite forms of each team, I like getting the Sabres at a relatively short price at home. The reason why this line is so cheap is that they are playing their first game at home since being in California for three games. However, that fatigue risk is mitigated by the three days of rest leading up to this game.

Given Ottawa's recent struggles, we'll ride with Sabres ML here.

Pick: Sabres Moneyline (-125, FanDuel)
