Everyone starts at Bronze and works up the Rewards ladder by earning Tier Credits through eligible DraftKings activity. Hit Silver and you're in the first tier that gets the birthday perk. DraftKings says you keep a tier for the rest of the program year in which you earned it and the full program year that follows.

DraftKings Birthday Bonus Terms and Crown Cash Rules

Crown Cash is DraftKings' rewards currency. DraftKings describes it as promotional units that don't represent real-world monetary value, so a $250 birthday reward is $250 of play rather than $250 you can move to your bank. When it's available for an eligible bet, entry, or other activity, you can choose Crown Cash as the payment method.
You can't split one wager between cash and Crown Cash, and DraftKings also blocks Crown Cash from being combined with certain other promotional balances. You can't withdraw Crown Cash directly.
For the DraftKings birthday bonus, the sportsbook limits the reward to one per customer and gives you 31 days to claim it. Its birthday terms say the Crown Cash is non-withdrawable and expires after 12 months of inactivity on DraftKings and/or Golden Nugget Online Gaming.

What Players Were Getting Before DraftKings Changed the Birthday Bonus
Older DraftKings birthday stories look pretty different from the perk available now.
Before August 2026, players reported receiving anything from a few dollars to several hundred dollars. Some said they got nothing unless they reached out to customer support. In February 2024, one bettor said he emailed DraftKings around his birthday and received a $34 Bonus Bet. Others in the same discussion reported rewards of $5, $50 and $200.
That inconsistency continued into 2026. In February, one player said a DraftKings VIP host gave him two $50 Bonus Bets for his birthday. Another reported receiving a $200 free bet in March. In a June 2026 DraftKings discussion, members shared their rewards, and the amounts varied widely. One Gold member got $250, another got $500, and an Onyx member only got $100. According to the official reward system, Gold members should get $50 and Onyx members $500, which is the opposite of what those members reported.
Even though these are individual player reports and not guaranteed offer amounts, they provide useful context. In short, before DraftKings introduced its published birthday tiers in August, no single reward amount let every eligible player check in advance.
The current Rewards setup gives Silver through Onyx members a published Crown Cash amount based on their tier, instead of leaving the value as open-ended as those older reports suggest.
