Sabalenka vs Anisimova Preview, Prediction

Aryna Sabalenka Betting Preview

Despite the fact that she's dropped just one set at the championships, it's been a very tumultuous run to the semifinals for Aryna Sabalenka.

The World No. 1 looked to be in serious danger of dropping the first set in each of her last four matches, falling behind by a break in three of them, and finally luck caught up to her when she was forced to stage a comeback in the last round against the pesky Laura Siegemund.

Sabalenka has served at 62% in this tournament, which is right in line with her season average, and she's exceeded her win rate behind her first serve at 72% across the last week and a half.

It's been returning second serves that has been an issue up until this point, and now she'll step to Amanda Anisimova, who ranks 15th in win rate behind her second serve and is up over her season average at 50% during this tournament.

It could simply be bad luck for Sabalenka, who has been able to bring about plenty of break chances to a very low conversion rate, or it could be a sign that her infamous nerves are rearing their ugly head on pressure points.

Amanda Anisimova Betting Preview

The run Anisimova is on is hardly a surprise. The 23-year-old has always possessed big-time talent, and after several abbreviated seasons due to injury, she's found a full bill of health here in 2025, which propelled her to an excellent run on grass entering the start of Wimbledon last week.

Anisimova managed to reach the final of Queen's Club after taking out a dangerous Qinwen Zheng in the semis, and the American would go on to pick up two more wins in Berlin before running through the first five rounds of the championships with some degree of ease.

The American's certainly crumbled under the pressure on a couple of occasions, failing to seal her third- and fourth-round matches in the second set only to pull herself back up to comfortably take the third set. It appeared she was ticketed for another dramatic finish when she was broken serving for the match by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarters, and after gifting her opponent five set points she eventually found a way through.

Anisimova certainly could have given herself a bit more rest in the last week, but she looks as dangerous as ever — and not only has experience against Sabalenka but at this stage as well, reaching the semifinals of Roland Garros six years ago.

Sabalenka vs Anisimova Predictions, Betting Analysis

Sabalenka and Anisimova have never met at this stage of a Grand Slam, but they've met twice in the fourth round in the last two seasons where the Belarusian comfortably advanced in two sets without breaking much of a sweat.

The World No. 1 had entered their encounter at last year's Australian Open with an 0-2 record versus Anisimova in Grand Slams and a 1-4 record overall, but she's convincingly flipped the script with just one defeat since the middle of 2022, which came at last year's 1000-level event in Toronto.

Now, I'm not sure we can say for certain that Sabalenka is going to stay in front of her opponent given the nature of their last few matches — but while she's given her opposition a head start in nearly every match, Anisimova has inspired even less confidence this week when handed a lead.

This match screams Over as a result, despite the fact that I'd ordinarily lean towards Sabalenka making quick work of Anisimova.

Nerves should be at an all-time high, which will make this one quite volatile, and while I like the Over I'll also be playing Sabalenka to come from a break down to win the first set and the match.

Pick: Over 21.5 (-110, DraftKings); Sabalenka to Come from a Break Down and Win the 1st Set and Match (+600, DraftKings)
