Muchova vs Noskova Betting Preview

By: Tudor Cosma

Karolina Muchova Preview

Muchova is a 29-year-old Czech who's ranked ninth in the WTA.

She's playing in her second Grand Slam final of her career, having dramatically lost her first at Roland Garros to Iga Swiatek.

Now, obviously, Muchova wants a different outcome and deserves for this to happen. She's an incredible talent, rarely seen on the WTA Tour.

She's been called the Roger Federer of the women's circuit, and we also saw the legendary Jennifer Capriati say that Muchova reminds her of the athletes of her generation (ones that relied more on talent and less on the physical factor).

She's one of the tallest and strongest athletes on tour. However, Muchova has other assets to her game beyond the physical.  She's extremely versatile and creative, with some incredibly elegant and well-placed shots from all spots of the court.

She's effective on both the forehand and backhand wing, and she has few weaknesses.

The question remains how such a player hasn't won a slam. However, we must take into account two aspects. First, the competition is fierce on the WTA Tour. Second is the fact that she's had many injuries, which have limited her progress.

Last season was quite good for Muchova, as she reached the quarterfinals at the US Open and the semifinals in Dubai.

The new season has been much superior for her, with a title on the hard courts in Doha, a final in Stuttgart on clay and a trophy on grass in Bad Homburg.

We see how versatile she is, as she's effective on any surface. On grass, though, she feels extraordinary. In Bad Homburg, she won the trophy without any major problems, and at Wimbledon, she beat big names, including Barbora Krejcikova (a former champion here), Naomi Osaka (a four-time Grand Slam winner) and Coco Gauff (a two-time grand slam champion).

Her semifinal match with Gauff was incredible. The decisive set was very even, with both serving well, and in the tiebreak, only small errors made the difference.

Muchova saved a match point, and then closed the match at 12-10, making it one of the most dramatic semifinals this stadium has seen. It was the first time Muchova played on the legendary Centre Court, and now she should be more comfortable.

However, the stakes are huge, and both athletes will be overwhelmed by emotions. Whoever manages to remain more present in the match will probably get the trophy.

Linda Noskova Preview

Noskova is a 21-year-old Czech who's ranked 12th on the WTA Tour. She'll re-enter the WTA top 10 on Monday, an elite position where she deserves to be. She's one of the most valuable players on the circuit, and in the future, we'll probably see her with multiple Grand Slam titles.

Her potential has been visible since her debut on the professional circuit, when she dominated much more mature players.

However, Noskova has always had a special aggressiveness, through which she managed to dominate almost anyone and take control of points. She made many unforced mistakes and she needed time to tame some of her shots, but she now seems very balanced.

She still has vulnerable points, but she's very young, so she can work through them in the future.

On the other hand, her strengths are obvious. She's one of the tallest players in the world, she has a hard serve to return and she's extra aggressive. She has problems on return and is sometimes slow, but she compensates with her strength.

She also seems quite strong mentally.

She had an incredibly difficult match with Sorana Cirstea at Wimbledon, which went to a super tiebreak, but she managed the points very well.

However, on Saturday, the stakes are huge, and I don't know how Noskova will react.

Last season was good for her, even if she didn't win any trophies. However, she reached important finals in Beijing and Tokyo.

The new season brought her a title on grass in Berlin. Otherwise, a semifinal at Indian Wells and a quarterfinal berth in Madrid gave her some confidence on other surfaces. She's excellent on grass, and the victory in Berlin, when she got past Jessica Pegula and Alexandra Eala, wasn't a coincidence.

At Wimbledon, she seems to be doing even better. She eliminated Madison Keys in two sets and also got past Elise Mertens. In the semifinals against Marta Kostyuk, Noskova was in total control of the match, serving excellently as usual, and she broke at key moments on the return.

If she plays like that, she can definitely prevail on Saturday.

Muchova vs Noskova Predictions, Betting Analysis

Muchova looks excellent on grass right now, recently winning the trophy in Bad Homburg. She passed Krejcikova, Osaka and Gauff — three Grand Slam champions — at Wimbledon, so she's had an incredibly difficult road.

It seemed to me that she managed the matches excellently, both tactically and mentally. Against Gauff, Muchova had many very complicated moments. In the super tiebreak, she had to save a match point and played very inspired tennis when the tension was higher.

This inner peace, the power to manage critical moments, can help her in the final.

Noskova has also been excellent. She had questionable moments against Cirstea, but since then, she's easily passed Keys and Kostyuk. Against these two great opponents, she served amazingly, losing only one break per match.

If she plays the same way, she'll have a great opportunity on Saturday. However, with this being her first Grand Slam final, she may have hesitations.

Nothing seems to separate these two competitors (besides experience), so I think the match will be very balanced.

Ultimately, I believe Muchova covers the spread, though.
