A top-10 battle is set to take center stage on Saturday in Toronto at the WTA National Bank Open as 10-seed Marta Kostyuk takes on seven-seed Iga Swiatek.
The winner advances to the quarterfinals, but the road will remain tough from here for either winner as all 16 players remaining in the women's draw are seeded.

Marta Kostyuk Preview
Kostyuk is a 24-year-old Ukrainian who's ranked 11th in the WTA. She's currently in the best position of her career as she's expected to stabilize in the top 10 in the coming years.
I think she could've reached this elite level much earlier in her career, but there were objective reasons that held her back. Unfortunately, at the beginning of her career, she had some injuries and then she was also affected by the armed conflict in which her native country is involved in.
Now she seems to be in a much quieter area, where she can focus on tennis.
She's strong and very agile, and this season, I've even seen her do a backflip on the court.
From the point of view of strength and tenacity, she can dominate anyone on the circuit.
She has a strong and efficient serve, but she's also very skillful on the return. She places herself correctly on the court, returns deep balls and creates breaks with great ease, even when she meets very good serves.
She'll probably remain at the top for many years, even being able to fight for Grand Slam trophies.
Last season was quite good for her, as she reached the quarterfinals in Madrid and at the National Bank Open before earning a Round 4 berth at the US Open.
She's been excellent this season, especially on clay. On the slow surface, she's only lost one match all year, in the semifinals of Roland Garros against Mirra Andreeva. Otherwise, she earned trophies in Rouen and Madrid.
At Wimbledon, she was excellent. She reached the semifinals with ease, but there she was defeated 4-6, 4-6 by Linda Noskova.
In Toronto, she hasn't given up a set. She impressed against Madison Keys, winning very easily and creating breaks with ease.
Iga Swiatek Preview
Swiatek is a 25-year-old Polish player who's ranked eighth in the WTA. The position that she currently occupies in the world rankings is a disappointing one for her standards.
We can't forget that she once clearly dominated the women's circuit, spending many weeks in the WTA No. 1 spot. In addition, Swiatek is the most successful player in the game, if we don't count the Williams sisters.
Swiatek has six Grand Slam trophies, with four of them coming on her favorite surface, clay. She won the US Open in 2022, and last year, she surprisingly won Wimbledon with a stunning final result against Amanda Anisimova, 6-0, 6-0.
However, despite these performances, Swiatek remains the most fragile major champion in recent decades. Her talent is visible, but she has many shaky matches and suffers in terms of self-confidence.
She travels with a personal psychologist, but even so, she often seems very timid on the court, even lost at times.
She makes a lot of mistakes, and Swiatek turn her body language into a negative.
Last season was a good one since she won the Wimbledon trophy, but 2026 has produced zero trophies. She has quarterfinals appearances at the Australian Open and Indian Wells and a semifinal berth in Rome, though.
At the French Open, she lost to today's opponent — 0-2 set score — and at Wimbledon, she lost in the third round to Alexandra Eala.
Swiatek has played great in Toronto. She got past Sara Bejlek and Viktorija Golubic without losing a set, and she's serving very well.
Kostyuk vs Swiatek Predictions, Betting Analysis
Kostyuk is one of the most fit tennis players in the world. She's a semifinalist at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and here, she hasn't lost a set.
On Thursday, she impressed against Keys, completely dominating the match and winning in two very unbalanced sets.
Swiatek also has played excellently here. However, she wasn't put under any pressure at all. She's fragile and vulnerable, and I don't think her self-confidence is high enough right now during a weak season with no titles.
I'm going to take a shot at Kostyuk winning on the moneyline.
