Nicolas Jarry vs Joao Fonseca Preview, Prediction

Nicolas Jarry Betting Preview

Nicolas Jarry's win over Holger Rune was arguably the Chilean's most impressive result at a Grand Slam, as he came back from two sets down to claim an unexpected win (4-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4) in just over three hours. He went on to back it up with a solid win over American Learner Tien in straight sets.

It comes as a surprise, as Jarry is far from the heights his tennis once reached. He was quickly ousted at the French Open, and things didn't look like they were improving for him when the grass season started, with a 3-3 record.

Still, the big Chilean has been incredibly consistent with his serve, winning 86% of the points he's played with it. He's yet to concede a break and banged nine aces for good measure.

Jarry has also been very aggressive from the baseline, putting 44 winners past Tien.

Joao Fonseca Betting Preview

Arguably tennis's most fascinating teenage sensation this side of Rafael Nadal, Joao Fonseca has gone from strength to strength in 2025.

He clinched his first ATP Tour-level title in Buenos Aires in February and was unlucky to find an in-form Jack Draper at Roland Garros, where many predicted a deeper run.

The switch to grass hasn't been particularly kind to him, with two losses and a win on his way to the AELTC, but he was incredibly unlucky with the draw once again.

Fonseca narrowly missed out on a first-round battle with Hamburg winner Flavio Cobolli at Halle, then pushed Taylor Fritz to the limit in the second round at Eastbourne.

Yet, he's still only 18, and there's a hesitancy to his game.

He can drop bombs with his serve and has a rocket of a forehand, but his shot selection can be a bit scatter gun, and the aim will go missing.

Against Eastbourne Open finalist Jenson Brooksby in the second round, he lost serve three times and had to save 10 break points, something a more consistent opponent could take advantage of.

Nicolas Jarry vs Joao Fonseca Predictions, Betting Analysis

The key to this match is straightforward: Can Jarry keep his top-10 impression going or will he revert to his more usual 2025 self?

The Chilean showcased against Rune that he can handle a powerful opponent, but he'll need another top performance to do it.

While the winner may be a coin flip, if Jarry keeps up his serving masterclass and takes advantage of the moments when Fonseca goes AWOL, he'll push the Brazilian wonderkid to five thrilling sets.

Pick: Over 41.5 (-115 via DraftKings)
