Paul vs Davidovich Fokina Preview, Prediction
by Tudor Cosma
Tommy Paul Betting Preview
Paul is an excellent, highly explosive tennis player who excels in extended rallies. While last year was somewhat below expectations, Paul currently appears to have found a solid competitive rhythm.
He hasn't dropped a set in his first two matches at the Australian Open against Thiago Tirante and Aleksandar Kovacevic, making him the slight favorite for today’s encounter.
However, it's difficult to imagine him winning in straight sets, given the quality of his opponent.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Betting Preview
Davidovich Fokina was one of the most impressive players of last season, and his proximity to the top 10 is no fluke.
He arrives after a grueling second-round battle against Reilly Opelka, where he showed great mental fortitude to win 3-2 after losing the third and fourth sets.
While Davidovich Fokina isn't a "big server" by trade, he's found his range in Melbourne, recording 10 aces against Filip Misolic and 12 against Opelka.
Paul vs Davidovich Fokina Predictions, Betting Analysis
I expect a lengthy match lasting at least four sets, during which Alejandro should be able to average at least one ace per set.
Consequently, I believe he'll record a minimum of four aces.
