Gertler has written hundreds of tennis articles for various websites since 2012, and he is excited to be continuing to write about the sport for The Action Network. He has been a podcast guest for the Cracked Racquets podcasts, which are a part of the Tennis Channel Podcast Network. Gertler has been writing tennis articles for Action since January 2022.
Education
Gertler has a BA from the University of Michigan where he studied psychology. He then went on to get his MEd from Vanderbilt University. He watched and wrote about tennis throughout his higher education experiences.

Most Heartbreaking Bet
A few summers ago, I had the biggest bet of my life on the Portland Timbers to beat the Seattle Sounders. The Timbers went up a goal, and when a Sounders player got a red card to put the Timbers up a man, I was feeling really good. Unfortunately, in stoppage time, the Sounders scored equalized. I spent most of my night lying in bed restless, desperately hoping that the melatonin would eventually kick in.
