My favorite Kalshi market for this game is Reds to win (~44¢).
Burns is the reason. The 23-year-old has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season, and his recent form backs up the season-long numbers. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in four of his past five starts, including seven scoreless innings against Miami.
Imanaga is still a solid counter for Chicago, and the Cubs have been the better team overall, so Cincinnati is appropriately priced as the underdog. But at roughly 44 cents, Burns gives me enough confidence to take the plus-price side rather than paying more than 50 cents for Chicago.
Cincinnati also has some success against Imanaga to point toward. The Reds shut out the Cubs 4-0 when they faced him in Cincinnati on July 10, and Chicago enters this series having won five of the first seven head-to-head meetings this season.
