Athletics vs Rangers Pick, Betting Analysis
J.T. Ginn will take the ball for the Athletics this afternoon, and he should be better than the numbers have shown so far.
His expected metrics in both ERA and FIP are signs of improvement to come, and his WHIP is a promising 1.06.
He already faced the Rangers on April 15 and allowed just two hits in five and 1/3 innings, although one of those was a Corey Seager two-run homer.
His rival on the mound that night was Kumar Rocker, who will also start today. Rocker also allowed two runs against the A's in that previous meeting, on four hits, four walks and six strikeouts through four and 2/3 innings.
Rocker is coming off an excellent outing against the Pirates, giving up only four hits and one run across six innings.
The Texas offense has cooled off, ranking 27th in wRC+ over the last seven days. Overall, these two lineups rank in the bottom half this season in wRC+ (Rangers 18th, A's 22nd).
Yesterday's game hit the under with only seven runs, and we trust in a repeat today.
Pick: Under 8.5 (-105, FanDuel)
