Rockies vs Astros MLB Betting Preview
This game triggered one of our Action PRO betting systems, powered by Evan Abrams.
In Major League Baseball, road underdogs playing interleague games have historically been undervalued by oddsmakers.
Since 2016, despite winning only 43.3% of these games, these teams have generated a consistent positive ROI.
This trend has proven reliable across five consecutive seasons, indicating market inefficiencies in how these specific matchups are priced — likely due to lack of familiarity between leagues and public overconfidence in home and favorite teams.

Rockies vs Astros Picks
Since new management took over in Denver, the Rockies look organizationally competent for the first time in decades. While the team is still relatively devoid of talent, they’re playing above their heads in the early going — even at 6-11, I’ve been impressed with the start.
The top half of the lineup is cruising (Edouard Julien, Mickey Moniak, Hunter Goodman, Troy Johnston, TJ Rumfield), and while Ezequiel Tovar doesn’t provide much with his bat, I’m a huge fan of his defense.
Meanwhile, the Astros are off to a tough start. While the lineup rocks, they have zero pitching — no MLB team has scored or allowed more runs than Houston so far (102 RS, 113 RA).
They’re hoping Spencer Arrighetti can help solve those issues, now that he’s back in the rotation after three Triple-A rehab appearances (14 ⅓ IP, 1.26 ERA, 25.5% K-BB).
But I’m not ready to put the cart before the wagon, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rockies won another high-scoring ballgame — they swept the Astros back at Coors Field last week, winning the three games by scores of 9-7, 5-1, and 5-1.
Pick: Rockies ML (+150 or Better)
