Dodgers vs Rockies MLB Betting Preview

It’s going to be almost 80 degrees during first pitch in Denver, meaning the ball should be flying.

What are we doing with Jose Quintana? He’s running a -14% K-BB rate and a 16% ground-ball rate. His average fastball velocity sat below 90 MPH in his most recent start.

So, he’s planning on throwing 88 MPH fly-ball meatballs against the Dodgers in warm weather. That’s not a great plan, especially considering the lineup is running a 138 wRC+ against lefties so far this season — 14% better than any other team.

Meanwhile, I’m not buying what Justin Wrobleski is selling. Through 17 innings across three starts, he’s posted six strikeouts to five walks with a .154 BABIP. He’s due for a blowup outing.

Dodgers vs Rockies Pick, Betting Analysis

Behind Wrobleski, the Dodgers burned their bullpen on Sunday, using Kyle Hurt, Jack Dreyer, Will Klein, Blake Treinen, Alex Vesia, and Edwin Diaz in a 9-6 loss — they were forced to after Rosi Sasaki had another brutal outing.

The Rockies aren’t good, but they’re frisky. I’m hoping for another solid offensive performance, and it’s more than likely the Dodgers bash Quintana around.

Pick: Over 11.5
