Marlins vs Reds MLB Predictions, Parlay Picks

Story: Back Elly to Thrive at Plate on Saturday Night in a Reds Victory

The Reds will host the Marlins on Saturday afternoon in the second of a three-game homestand at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

30-year-old right-hander Brady Singer will take the mound for the Reds, while righty Ryan Gusto will start for the visiting Marlins.

Below, I will break down Saturday’s National League clash and further provide a “same-game-parlay” (SGP) betting angle that you can take when wagering on this contest.

Elly De La Cruz (CIN) 2+ TB

For the first leg of our SGP for Saturday night, I feel great backing Reds’ superstar Elly De La Cruz to exceed his 1.5 TB (Total Base) mark in what should be a massive performance at the plate for the 24-year-old.

In just his fourth season playing in the Major Leagues, the Reds’ youngster has already established himself as one of the premier players in all of baseball, with the switch-hitter boasting tremendous versatility on the diamond.

In the Reds' first 100 games in 2026, Elly has recorded an .852 OPS, with Cincy’s superstar also having smashed 20 homers, whilst driving in 54 runners (RBIs) and swiping 21 bags (SB) as well.

The Dominican is a generational prospect, with De La Cruz possessing immense raw power at the plate, electric speed on the basepaths, and a rocket of an arm clocked well over 95 MPH.

The Marlins’ Gusto enters this contest in rough form on the mound, with the Marlins’ 27-year-old having recorded a 4.78 ERA throughout his 49 innings pitched (IP) in 2026.

Gusto does not possess elite punch-out prowess, as he has not been missing enough bats. His 20.9 WHF% makes him very susceptible to hard contact, with opposing hitters generating a 43.9% hard-contact rate.

The Marlins’ righty has struggled mightily with command over the course of his 2026 campaign thus far, which has forced him to throw strikes in the zone, in turn resulting in his allowing heavy damage given his need for contact in order to retire batters.

This is a matchup I heavily favor the Reds’ superstar over Miami’s righty's poor form on the bump in 2026, so I feel great backing Elly to record at least two bases on Saturday night, which should build a solid foundation for our SGP.

Reds ML

For the second leg of our SGP ahead of Saturday’s National League clash, I favor backing the Reds to reign supreme given a significant edge on the mound for Cincinnati.

Despite the Reds’ Singer also having struggled mightily with consistency over the course of his 2026 campaign thus far, the former-Royal enters Saturday’s contest in decent form on the bump, having recorded a quality start (QS) in five of his last six starts.

In addition to Singer’s improved form on the mound, the Reds will be playing in the comfort of their home at Great American Family Ball Park in Cincinnati, where they have been better this season as opposed to playing on the road.

Even if the Reds’ right-hander does not show up on Saturday afternoon with his best stuff on the mound, I expect Gusto to get clobbered by Cincy’s lineup given his extreme susceptibility to high contact rates and heavy damage in 2026.

That said, I will be looking to back the Reds to reign supreme (moneyline), which should round out our value SGP on Saturday night quite nicely.
